The kenya film corporation has banned the movie fifty shades of grey citing that it has very explicit scenes. The movie was set to premier in movie houses this coming month of march 2015. This is not the first time the film body is banning a movie in Kenya. Recently the movie wolf of wall street was banned in Kenya. Banning of movies ironically whets the appetite of movie lovers who go on a spree looking them online and downloading them.
Kenya has always been a conservative Nation but the new generation that has come has embraced western values including dressing modes that lean to nudity. Fifty shades of grey is based on a 2011 Erotic romance novel by British author. It talks of deepening relationship between a college graduate, Anastasia Steele, and a young business magnate, Christian Grey.
As is expected, as a result of the ban majority of the urban Kenyan youth will end up watching the movie 50 shades of grey. Wrong move Kenya Film Corporation.
